Taking Screen Captures on ChromeOS

The built-in tool of ChromeOS on both Chromebooks and Chromeboxes is called "Screen capture." This tool can be used to take images and videos of your device's screen. In this article, we will go over the steps to take a screen capture image using the tool located on your system tray. You can also search for this tool on the bottom left app list.

Open the Screen Capture Tool

 

1. Tap the bottom right clock to open the system tray

 

 

2. Tap Screen capture

 

 

Taking a Screenshot on ChromeOS

 

The default is to capture the full screen but on the Screen capture tool's menu, you can select either full screen, selected area capture, or window capture.

 

Tap to take the screen capture. 

 

Your screen capture image will appear on the bottom right as a notification to edit, share, or save for late use.
