Setting Up MFA for a Student Single Sign-on (SSO) Account

Open a web browser and go to aka.ms/mfasetup, then enter your SSO account username.

 

 

 

Enter your SSO account password.

 

 

 

Tap or click Next to begin further protecting your SSO account with MFA.

 

 

 

Before continuing, download the Microsoft Authenticator app from your phone's app store.

 

 

If you do not have phone, you may use a parent or guardian's phone if they are accompanying you while traveling.

 

Once the app is downloaded to your phone, proceed by clicking the Next button.

 

 

 

Click Next once more to display the needed QR code necessary for further steps.

 

 

 

On your phone, open the Microsoft Authenticator app and agree to the privacy statement.

 

 

 

Tap the Add work or school account button.

 

 

 

Tap the Add account button.

 

 

 

Tap the Work or school account option.

 

 

 

Tap the Scan QR code option.

 

 

 

Allow the Microsoft Authenticator app access to your phone's camera by tapping OK.

 

 

 

Use the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone to scan the QR code presented on your computer.

 

 


After scanning the QR code presented on your computer, a random two digit number will be displayed.


 

 

Using the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone, enter the two digit number shown on your computer.

 

 

 

After the number entered is verified, the following Notification approved message is shown.

 

 

 

Your SSO account is now set up for international travel.
