Each school district Chromebook uses a digital certificate in order to connect to PantherNet WiFi. This certificate is valid for 365 days after being issued. The technology department has learned of a problem where Chromebooks are not able to remain connected to PantherNet when the certificate gets close to expiration. The solution in avoiding this problem is to manually renew the Chromebook certificate before it nears expiration.
This guide shows how to manually renewal a Chromebook's PantherNet WiFi certificate.
1. open Chrome
2. click the Extensions icon
3. click the SecureW2 Certificate extension
You will see that Enrolled shows as Loading configuration... and Days until expiry is -.
4. click the Enroll for certificate button
Your Chromebook's PantherNet WiFi certificate has successfully been renewed when you see Enrolled as Yes and Days until expiry as 364 days.
