By clicking on a course in the Dashboard, you will be directed to that course page. Each course can be fully customized by their teacher, so it may appear different for you.

The 4 most important pages for a course, highlighted above, are:

  • Home, the "front page" of the course.
  • Announcements, where the teacher will publish important messages related to the class.
  • Grades, where all of your grades and assignments will be.
  • Modules, where all course content (such as textbooks, notes, and slides) live.

Announcements

The announcements page shows a list of, well, announcements! You can click the title of an announcement to view the contents. You'll usually receive emails when announcements are posted, so you don't have to worry about checking this page frequently.

Grades

The grades page is the definitive source of grades for that class until report cards come out at the end of the semester. Here you can view all assignments, digital or paper.

  1. Each row is an assignment, with its title, due date, submission date, score, and more. Click on the title to go to the submission page.
  2. This section allows you to filter and sort your grades based on certain parameters. Here you can easily switch between classes by changing the "Course" box, then clicking "Apply".
  3. If your grade is weighted, the distribution will show up in this table. In this example, semester 2 vocabulary is only worth 10% of the total grade.
  4. If you scroll to the bottom of the page, it will display your current grade and points. I recommend selecting the "Calculate based only on graded assignments" checkbox, or it will assume ungraded assignments are 0 and drastically reduce your score.
  5. You can click on a score to "test" an alternate value, which will update your total score. This will disappear if you refresh the page, but it is great for checking the minimum score on a test required to maintain your grade.

Modules

Modules are collections of course content organized by the teacher. Modules typically represent class units or specific projects, and they can contain files, links, assignments, and more.

As the year progresses, you may have to scroll down farther and farther to view the current module. I recommend clicking the "Collapse All" button to minimize all modules, then clicking on the ones that are relevant to expand them.
