The Upper St. Clair School District, including the Technology Department, will be closed for Winter Break starting on December 23, 2024, at 12 PM.

Verifying that your Microphone and Camera are enabled for Google Meet on a Chromebook

1.  Launch Chrome

 

2.  Select the three dots in the upper right corner of Chrome

 

3.  Select "Settings"

 

 

4. Select "Site Settings"

 

 

5. Scroll down to "Permissions". We will be looking at the "meet.google.com" permissions as well as the "Camera" and "Microphone" permissions.

 

 

6. Select "meet.google.com" and verify that your "Camera" and "Microphone" are set to "Allow".  If it is set to "Block" or "Ask" select the dropdown menu and select "Allow." If you do not see "meet.google.com" please visit meet.google.com and select "Allow" when the pop-ups appear asking for Camera and Microphone permissions.

 

 

7. Select the back arrow next to "meet.google.com" and select "Camera." Verfy that you have selected "Front Camera User-facing" from the dropdown menu. Verify that the "Ask before accessing (recommended)" slider is toggled to the right or allowed.  You should also see "https//meet.google.com:443" under the "Allow" section.

 

 

8. Select the back arrow next to "Camera" and select "Microphone." Verify that you have selected the "Default - Built-in mic" from the dropdown menu.  Verify that the "Ask before accessing (recommended)" slider toggled to the right or allowed.  You should also see "https//meet.google.com:443" under the "Allow" section.

 

 

 

9.  You can exit Chrome Settings by closing the "Chrome Settings" tab.
