There is a bug in the current version of the Canvas Student iOS app (v6.6.2). Some users may receive the following authentication error when trying to access content:
The canvas support team is working on a permanent fix to be released in a future app update. In the meantime, if you are experiencing this issue, please follow the steps below to avoid seeing this message:
1. Log out of the Canvas Student app. Click the three horizontal lines in the upper-left corner of the app to access the menu. Select "Log Out" from the bottom of the left navigation menu.
2. Tap the blue button in the center of the screen labeled "Find my school".
3. ***THIS STEP IS VERY IMPORTANT*** In the school search field, enter "uscsd" in all lowercase letters. Please be aware the iOS keyboard may try to automatically capitalize the first letter so make sure all letters are lowercase. The authentication error is a direct result of using at least one uppercase letter in the school search field. Next tap on the link labeled "Upper St. Clair School District - Staff/Parents" and continue the log in the process, as usual, using your Canvas credentials.
